Recently I recorded a CD in my Mastery Series called Digital Marketing Mastery. And because that is not my expertise I interviewed an expert - Ben Slater from Admission.
And one thing that came through loud and clear to me was that there are "websites" and there are "digital marketing sites". There is a world of difference between the two and many business people simply have websites.
Now, if your aim is to publish information about your business then a website may well be enough. Some pictures, your logo, contact details, details of your product or service and maybe even a newsletter (that gets sent out occasionally).
However, if your goal is to grow your business then a "digital marketing site" is a must.
Just like any sales or marketing activity, it is no good getting people to your website if you....
- do not convert them to customers or prospects and
- do not keep them coming back
So what might you do?
Well the first thing I suggest is that you listen to the CD, Digital Marketing Mastery. It may well be the best $39 you spend. However, in the interim here are some things to consider:-
Bells and whistles are great and may have been enough when the intenet was new. Now they are "ho hum" and smart business people are looking for real value well as reason to stay more than a few seconds.
