Testimonials - more than just thanks!


Most People in Business know what a testimonial is, right? Well maybe if it is asked for!

Most people in business give testimonials to others when they are deserved, right? WRONG!

Be honest now. When was the last time you wrote a testimonial for someone, on your business leterhead and sent it?

And, more to the point, when was the last time you wrote one.........totally unsolicited?

Recently I was reminded by something she did, as to how supportive and encouraging a business colleague had been over many years. From suggestions for improvement all the way to actual speaking engagements by referral, she had played a huge part in my success.

So I sent her a testimonial and a thankyou all wrapped up in a beautiful card. On this occasion, as I do often, I used the services of Send Out Cards (see my website LINKS).

Now there are many ways you can acknowledge someone. However the key here is to do something!

  • An email.
  • A card.
  • A handwritten note.
  • A phone call.
  • A well chosen gift.
  • An instant lottery gift.
  • A posting on an electronic networking system.

The WHAT you do is nowhere near as important as DOING something.

It doesn't need to be an expensive gift, rather just an honest expression!

And it needs to be regular. I aim for at least one a week, sometimes many more.

You will find once you start you will become aware of many more opportunities for acknowledging people in your network.

So tune up your awareness, start noticing all the givers in your circle of contacts and start a lovely habit - sending testimonials! You may be amazed at the ones you get by starting this process.
