Stop Selling - Start Asking!

Most people in business are looking for ways to promote themselves and/or their products/services. You probably know some of them. They are the people who are always "selling" you and everyone else on the value of their product or service.

They expend a lot of singular effort - and that's what it is singular effort. One person trying to do all the selling.

However, if you believe in the saying "if you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got", then there has to be a way to do things differently!

And there is!

Get other people to promote you.

Here are 7 sure fire ways that enable others to promote you. And all you have to do is ask them!

1. Make an Announcement

At any group meeting - Networking group, Association meeting, Industry meeting or any group one of them is speaking at, they make an announcement about you...

a. a special event you are in
b. a sale you are having
c. a new product or service you have released

2. Nominate You for Recognition and Awards

Are you a member of any organisation - have someone nominate you for an award.

Does the local paper recognise people for special things - get someone to nominate you?

Have you done anything of a charitable nature - get recognised!

3. Arrange a Meeting on Your Behalf

When there is someone you really want to meet, find out who knows that person and ask them to arrange a meeting where they can introduce you personally.

When they do this they can reinforce you and your service, get feedback, and maybe even talk about other products/services you offer.

4. Serve as a Sponsor

For any events that you are running - trade stands, training sessions, information/promotional seminars, charity events - have someone else sponsor it. Benefit by association and credibility.

They can provide a room to use, loan you equipment, let you use their name, donate money or other resources.

They can even attend and verbally promote you.

5. Give away Card Wallets

Do you spend much on advertising?

What about buying some card wallets, have them embossed on the front with your compliments and your contact details, fill them with other people cards (whom you would recommend) and give them to your best clients for them to give away?

6. Have them promote you on their email masthead

Get other people to include a recommendation of you on the bottom of their email. It can include a logo, photo and contact information as well as some words of recommendation.

7. Promote you on their Voicemail message

At the end of their voicemail message - office phone or mobile - have a very short testimonial about you. Something like "I am working with xxxxx xxxxxxx who is a Business Coach and he/she is helping me achieve fantastic results. When I call back ask me about xxxxx xxxxxxx".
